ce de la danse contemporaine ? Du hip-hop ? Du voguing ? Dans quelle catégorie faut-
il classer Categoreez? Avec cette nouvelle création, le chorégraphe et danseur Yassin Mrabtifi souhaite créer un espace où les (sub)cultures et les codes se fondent, à l’instar des évolutions irrépressibles de la société et de la nature. Sur le tapis rouge de sa nouvelle création, le chorégraphe et danseur Yassin Mrabtifi fait table rase de la pensée cloisonnée, dans un brassage d’esthétiques et de codes scéniques. Situé dans un future proche où la solitude et la division pilotées par les puissants seraient devenues norme, il présente un cabaret minimaliste où les protagonistes se racontent et se rencontrent, malgré les catégories qui les séparent.

Is het een dansvoorstelling? Een catwalkperformance? Een feest? Is het hedendaagse dans, hiphop, voguing? In welk hokje past Categoreez? Met deze nieuwe creatie wil choreograaf en danser Yassin Mrabtifi een ruimte creëren waar (sub)culturen en codes zich vermengen, naar het evenbeeld van de onstopbare evoluties in de maatschappij en natuur. Op de rode loper van zijn nieuwste creatie maakt Yassin Mrabtifi komaf met hokjesdenken, in een mix van stijlen en theatercodes. Hij
stelt zich een nabije toekomst voor waarin de eenzaamheid en verdeeldheid die machthebbers zaaien, de norm is geworden. Hierin plaatst hij een minimalistisch cabaret met personages die hun verhalen vertolken en elkaar ontmoeten, ondanks de categorieën die hen scheiden.

With this new creation, choreographer and dancer Yassin Mrabtifi aims to create a space where (sub)cultures and codes mix, in the image of the unstoppable evolutions in society and nature. On the red carpet of his latest creation, Yassin Mrabtifi does away with pigeonholing, mixing styles and theatre codes. He imagines a near future in which the loneliness and divisions sown by those in power have become the norm. In it, he places a minimalist cabaret with characters who tell their stories and meet, despite the categories that separate them.
